How do we help?
The Family Food Basket Ministry works with local churches, Duke Energy, and the Department of Social Services to provide assistance. By utilizing three different sources of financial support, individuals and families can be helped without depleting local community resources; It is the families responsibility to seek additional aid from Department of Social Services, and local churches. It is important to remember that Church and Department of Social Services Aid is based on assessment, funding, and availability; therefore not guaranteed. However, the Family Food Basket can offer guidance in finding those additional resources or at least point you in the right direction. By spreading assistance among different resources, the number of those helped can be significantly increased in the community. At the Family Food Basket all applicants are screened for need by a member of our wonderful ministry.
